It's all broken down
into tebibytes
gibibytes
mebibytes
kibibytes
bytes
bits.
All 1s and 0s
On or off.
Transformed through wires
cables
switches
turned into green
red
blue
staring at me
transformed into black marks
against a pure white screen.

It's all temporary memory
And with a stroke of a key
the words are severed
the past is destroyed
no record exists in my life
of what she wrote to me.
Temporal
temporary
Random Access Memory
erased
the hard drive doesn't read it.

If only

if only

if only

there was a delete key
for my soul.

If only.

FYI: Gibi, tebi, mebi, kibi are all the -actual- official terms as they measure in powers of 2, whereas Giga, Tera, Mega, Kilo are all Metric and measure powers of 10, which does not accurately reflect the memory of a computer that runs on Binary.

Maybe there, you will find me

Oooh..this is very cool.

It's like the whole gamer joke where we wish there was a reset button or a continue on after a game over...

I like it a lot!

To live is to write and to write is to dream. Therefore...living is dreaming. Since you're a figment of my imagination, why are you so ugly?
:iconwandio:
Thank you very much!

"Laughs," the beginning is awesome and very original! I was laughing reading all the gibi's, mebi's, kib's . . . It was a fun read though. I like how your work avoids cliched lines, phrases, etc. I see too much of it today and it gets BORING!

"Hell belongs in a book
Where the setting is doused with flowers
Upon a field, accompanied by butterflies,
As some random man screams,
“Today’s weather is 50 degrees
With a 101% chance of cloudy skies,
Just to irk the Hell out of it!" -SIRyan-

I know, eh? I wanted to write one of those 'digital romance' poems without talking about disc drives and floppys.
