Hear! My Soul's darkness finally does lift!
Behold the breaking of a brand new day!
Yet sorrow does encroach upon the edge
For the loss of that which once did power
My Blackened Muse's wanderings so deep.

For that which once did darken my whole path,
Also powered my pen across the page.
That blinking cursor stares me in the face,
Mocking times I once spent in the dark
Which now I spend in brightened glorious day.

Although I lament the loss of the beast,
I shed no tears for my new wondrous state.
To bathe in warming sun so fair and bright,
To feel love course through black atrophied veins.

Gone are the days of tangled trees of death!
Gone the days when dark spirits followed me!
No longer watching Corpse rise from the grave,
No longer fearing Melancholy's grip.

And though that fear did power my young Muse,
Now grown up, she finds solace in the sun.
For I shall not leave the brightening of day,
To walk Phobos' and Deimos' dark abyss.

No longer shall I walk this path in fear,
No longer shall I walk this path in dread,
For the Sun has loosened Melancholy's hold,
Allowed my Sword to pierce her shrieking hide.

Slain, she now lies conquered at my feet.
Her black ichors ooze on to the red earth,
And my voice rings out in conquerors song:
"No Fear! No Fear! For Love now reigns o'er here!"
Written in four line stanzas of loosely kept blank verse. This is a poem about my emotional state, about personal strength, and about overcoming some of the obstacles put into my life.

A sad subject written like the conquering of a dragon. Very nice.
I love how very un-modern it sounds. C:
Reminded me of On my Blindness.
